Grande crossing the Gulf of Trieste to Ljubljana plain

Itinerary: Planinska Jama-Planina Cave (490 m), Planina (466 m), Haasberg Castle (475 m), Rakov Škocjan-Rio dei Gamberi (520 m), Cerknica Circon-Lake (549 m), Dolenja Vas (554 m), Cerknica (563 m) , Begunje (610 m).
THE PROGRAM, directions and hours:

7.00 am Trieste. Departure by bus. The road trip : Slovenia entered into by the former crossing point Fernetti, take the highway and emerge at the junction of Postojna. Ore 15.30 Dolenja Vas (punto 5). Ripartenza. Si sale alla piccola altura del Tabor dove racchiusa fra le mura (non più esistenti) si ergeva la cittadella fortificata. Sul punto più alto si trovano, inserite in una piazza di stampo antico, la chiesa dedicata alla Nascita di Maria (XV sec.) e altri storici edifici. Adiacente, come buon punto di sosta e ristoro si trova la pizzeria Glaž'k (tel. 0038617093344) .
Ore 16.00 Cerknica (punto 6). Partenza dal paese. Per raggiungere Begunje, punto di fine itineraro, potremmo percorrere per 3,5 km. la strada asfaltata. Caratteristiche del percorso: si svolge interamente su comode carrarecce, tranne che per un paio di possibili deviazioni, raccomandabili solo ai più esperti.
La lunghezza totale dell’itinerario è di circa 23,5 km.
Grazie all’uso della corriera potrà essere interrotto all’inizio del Rakov Škocjan (10 km.) oppure a Dolenja Vas (18 km.).
Dislivello max: metri 230 in salita, 110 in discesa.
