Luino - Macclesfield - Casalzuigno
From July 24 to 27 triumph over the Lombardy side of jazz with the Jazz Festival in Verbano Maggiore between Luino, Macclesfield and Casalzuigno. The initiative sees the collaboration between the organizers of the major musical events of the territory: Francesca Galante, also the festival's artistic director, creator and organizer with the Association of Renaissance Music Season Luino area, with the Association Sconfinarte Sabrina Pirola, author In the event Macclesfield Music at the Auditorium of the city, and Angela Viola, the outgoing commissioner Cultura della Comunità Montana della Valcuvia, teatro di svariate iniziative musicali che ruotano intorno alla Villa Della-Porta Bozzolo di Casalzuigno. Nel team anche il neonato Centro Culturale Frontiera, di cui Francesca Galante è Vice-presidente.
L’idea di un festival nasce dalla volontà comune di incrementare l’offerta di musica jazz sull’Alto Verbano, anche considerando la sensibilità nei confronti di questo genere musicale da parte di un pubblico abituato alle proposte di alto livello di vicine rassegne ormai consolidate (Lugano, Ascona). Inoltre, e non è poco, l’unione di forze organizzative e finanziarie consentono di ospitare grandi artisti dello scenario nazionale e internazionale che richiamino pubblico da più parti e gratifichino gli appassionati presenti sul territorio.
“Jazz in Maggiore”, che in questa prima edizione si concentra sulla voce come strumento principe dell’improvvisazione e come mezzo di espressione che raggiunge facilmente il cuore dell’ascoltatore , non vuole rivolgersi tuttavia solo ai neofiti, ma ad un pubblico più ampio e curioso, attento alle differenti espressioni musicali.
In programma quattro grandi concerti all’insegna dell’improvvisazione vocale con nomi del calibro di Maria João, Maria Pia De Vito e Lucia Minetti, e l’apprezzato ensemble Quattrottave.
Un cartellone in cui è evidente e sicuramente non casuale, dato che direzione e organizzazione sono assigned to women only, the female predominance.
